Summer Camp · Program Overview

Four Weeks of Learning, Playing, and Belonging

Our summer camp is designed to extend the nurturing spirit of the school year into the warmer months. Each week stands on its own — families may enroll for one week, a handful of weeks, or all four — making it easy to fit camp into whatever summer looks like for your family.

Sessions run Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 11:30 am, giving children a purposeful morning without overwhelming the rest of their day. Every session is guided by the same long-tenured teachers your child already trusts.

Who It's For

Flexible Enrollment for Where Your Child Is Right Now

Our camp welcomes children ages 2½ through 5. Whether your child is joining us for the first time this summer or returning from the school year, each week is thoughtfully paced to meet them where they are.

Younger Campers

Ages 2½ – 3½

Gentle mornings with familiar structure, small-group play, and activities scaled to shorter attention spans. Emphasis is on sensory exploration, simple art projects, and building comfort in a safe group setting.

  • Sensory art and water activities
  • Storytime with teacher-led discussion
  • Guided outdoor play with shade breaks
  • Consistent 8-to-1 ratio throughout

Older Campers

Ages 3½ – 5

More layered projects, collaborative games, and themed weeks that build curiosity and confidence. Activities are still playful but encourage creative problem-solving, peer interaction, and early independence.

  • Multi-step art and craft projects
  • Themed weekly explorations
  • Music, movement, and group games
  • Water play days with sun safety built in

"Summer camp at DUMC isn't about filling the calendar — it's about giving children the unhurried space to be curious, be themselves, and feel genuinely seen."

What Children Gain

More Than a Fun Morning — a Foundation for the Year Ahead

The best summers leave children a little more confident, a little more curious, and more ready to navigate the world around them. That is what we work toward, one small group at a time.

  • Social confidence. Children learn to share space, take turns, and form friendships in a setting where they already feel safe — a huge head-start for the school year.
  • Creative expression. Through art, music, and storytelling, children discover how to communicate ideas and feelings before they have all the words for them.
  • A sense of belonging. In a small group with consistent teachers, every child is known by name — not just as a camper, but as an individual who matters here.
